Yeah, that 'Weckl 9' lick...kind of like the blushda, the Tony Flams, those certain Gaddisms, AWA those Cobham, Bozzio, Brufe, Barlow, or Giles tom rolls [that's where NP got 'em! -AWA from Moonie too]...hard not to kill 'em for the 1st month aft they're learned...& for some of us, even many yrs after [*ahem* GB... ]
I abused the Spaceship USS W-9 for a long time...sometimes, i still pull it out of drydock for a little Wreck'em-plagierism...after all, if Zach, Knight, or Lear could do it, so could i... ;-p
There's the good, the bad, & the ugly pertaining to drumming in music copyright laws...unless it's changed since...which perhaps it should in some cases... :-(
The kid's 17. There's some allowances, there... ;-)
[Altho this is not nec a 'proper' comparison, but rather, more 'relative']; I also rem 'Tony at 17' [w Miles etc]... [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Sick chops man! javlig Bra!
I gotta say though ( and this beeing my honest oppinion ) i'm sad to see that your "producer"? are clipping in your solo's, I want to see your whole context as a soloist not just small tastes, because they sound pretty much the same.
I could be wrong though! we all have different ears!
You clinic Vid is deffinitely the best! You're showing mature qualities in listening to your fellow players, you're catching up alot of ideas whom your bass player are buzzing out, and that's a thing you have as a person, not something you practiced, hours and hours to achieve - it's something that's hidden deep within your heart.
However I think, but that's probably the Age comming in, that you're starting out the comping of his solo, pretty loud in dynamics - Let him introduce himself - try to gain an even more clearer picture of what he's trying to say, or what he wants to do with this story! The Way Gadd and Tee are comp'ing each other is for me the envy of everyone, it's sooooo Organic. Check out the Stuff things!.
With That beeing sad, i'm totally in awe of your technique, I don't know if I ever will have that discipline in a lifetime to achieve that lever!

I also checked out your Session things, when you posted your first clips. That was just in the closet, nothing to put a finger on! great job!
And by the way. Great website too!
I wish you all the best!

Forget these clips!
Check out his band PLATITUDE - very cool scandinavian progressive metal very similar to fellow Countrymates EVERGREY! Nice to see that you can play intense too, Andreas.
I thought the studio clip was good, but very repetative! The only time you grooved, it was always the same broken up patterns and there were only a handful of licks you kept repeating such as the one that ends with the 16th between the floor tom and open crash. But hey, you are 17?! Nothing to worry about man!

Hey guys!
Thanks for the replies! Yeah, I know, we didn't have a lot of videomaterial to choose from when we clipped the videos. I needed a video for a manager here in Sweden, so I had to find something fast, and remembered that we recorded some stuff during the recordings of the new Platitude album. It's a little 'cause of that it gets repetative
Hey Klemme,
Are you Swedish?? Maybe Danish? Thanks for the advice =) The bassplayer, by the way, is Jonas Reingold from the famous Swedish progrockers The Flower Kings. Great guy! That video was also recorded in the "heat of the moment", during a clinic I had in G?teborg, Sweden. Also just something I found and made a DVD of
Warunki,
Great site!!!! Love to hear more from your playing. We are right now licensing the new Platitude album. The same progressiveness, a little heavier and more leant towards AOR. Keep your eyes open for it. We're hoping on getting much better distribution on this one.
A.
